About this policy

This policy explains how SMDJ Ltd, trading as Medica Specialist Medical Recruitment (“Medica”), uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. For information about how Medica uses personal information, read the Privacy notice.

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Similar technologies can store or access information in browser session storage, browser history state or temporary memory.

How website measurement works

We count page views, referring sites, tagged campaign links and successful enquiries to learn which recruitment channels work. The first-party counter holds daily totals only: no visitor identifier, IP address, browser fingerprint, CV, contact details or individual browsing log is stored in the analytics table. A page view is not a unique visitor. It uses no analytics cookie or browser storage. Poppins is hosted with the website. We do not run advertising pixels, remarketing or heatmaps.

For visitors in the UK (including Northern Ireland), Canada and Australia, aggregate counting starts by default and can be turned off immediately using Privacy & analytics at the bottom of any page. We do not load Google Analytics in those regions. The UK approach is limited to statistics to improve this website, with a simple objection control.

In Ireland and other EU/EEA countries, we ask before optional analytics. Where the location is unavailable or another country has not been assessed for this setup, we also ask first. No optional aggregate event or Google Analytics tag is sent before acceptance. Accept and Reject work equally; either choice can be changed at any time. Country is determined from the hosting network's coarse country code, not stored with an IP address in our statistics.

Browser history and temporary memory

Names: __vinext_previousNextUrl, __vinext_scrollX and __vinext_scrollY, together with a short-lived in-memory navigation cache
Provider: the Medica website framework
Purpose: navigation reliability and restoring the correct scroll position
Duration: browser history session or short-lived page memory
Classification: strictly necessary

Form submission identifier

When you use a Medica form, a unique submission identifier is created temporarily in page memory and sent with that submission. It is used to prevent accidental duplicate processing. It is not placed in cookie, local storage or session storage and is not used to track browsing.

Recruitment channel information

During a visit we hold the referring website, landing path and tagged recruitment-link parameters in page memory. When you submit a form, these are sent with that enquiry to our private recruitment system. This source record belongs to the enquiry and is separate from aggregate website counts. Referrer information may be unavailable, so “direct” traffic also includes unreported sources. We do not infer an individual Google search term.

Only after an optional analytics acceptance in a consent region, medica_attribution_v2 stores the first and latest known sources in local storage for up to 90 days. It has no name, email address or CV. Without acceptance, source history is held in page memory for the current visit and is not stored for a later visit.

Your measurement choice

medica_measurement_consent_v2 remembers your acceptance or objection for 90 days. This is a preference record to respect your choice. Use Privacy & analytics at the bottom of any page to change it. Turning measurement off removes the optional source history and Google Analytics cookies. A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal also stops optional counting in this implementation.

Google Analytics, when configured

In consent regions only, acceptance may load the existing Google Analytics 4 website stream and its first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*, configured for up to 90 days). We send page and fixed recruitment-event categories, source labels and public job references. Names, emails, telephone numbers, CVs, confidential employer names, form text, full referrer URLs, URL query strings and individual search queries are not sent. Advertising features are disabled. Rejecting keeps the tag off.

Managing optional measurement

For consent regions, Accept analytics and Reject analytics are offered together. In default aggregate regions, the same settings control turns counting off or back on. You can use recruitment forms regardless of your choice. Turning counting off does not withdraw information already submitted to our recruitment system; its retention is covered by the Privacy notice.

Google organic search

Google Search Console supplies site-level search queries, clicks and impressions where available. Search Console omits some rare or anonymised queries. We do not match those queries to a person or claim to know which phrase a particular candidate or employer used.

Browser controls

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technology may affect security, access or website functions.
